What are Elementals?
According to legend, the first Elementals hatched from the Earth itself. They were instrumental in bringing balance to a chaotic young Earth. For thousands of years, they peacefully sculpted order out of chaos.
Elementals have five distinct physical forms they can change between at will - normal, water, fire, air, and life. Each one of these forms grants amplified control over a corresponding element of nature, with the exception of normal or "resting" form. In Elemental mythology, there is an elusive sixth form known as dark earth which allows the bearer to tap into the awesome power of the planet's core. Most contemporary Elementals dismiss this as no more than a tall tale, and there has never been a Dark Earth sighting confirmed.
A small portion of Elementals are born without the ability to change out of Normal form. Despite their lack of powers, they are treated as equals in Elemental society and tend to take on the roles of teachers or spiritual leaders.
Elemental villages were once so common, they could be found in nearly every field and forest. Their numbers are now dwindling, and in modernity only a scarce few settlements remain.
In these changing times, what will become of the Earth and its chaos if the Elementals fade?
